Mickey:

14 year old bay gelding, quarter horse, 14 hands and 1 inch, 960 pounds with a stout build.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT MICKEY: He is quick to respond, has a nice neck rein and understands leg pressure. He has an easy trot and a nice short lope. He is not a spook and has no vices.

We received Mickey on the same shipment as Snap. January 1, 2015 with the snow falling in Tucson and the transport driver glad to get off the icy roads from West Texas.  Mickey was also raised in Kentucky and had been used as a gymkhana  horse by a family of 2 girls. Two of our grandsons rode Mickey during the Christmas break to make sure he would fit into the line. Mickey was quickly added to the string and became a guest favorite because of his willingness to move on command and his alert attitude.  Mickey was easy to blend in with the other horses as he gets along well with other horses. His feet are easy to handle and he clips, bathes, and curries easily.  He likes people and is a pleasure to be around.  I believe Mickey was used pretty hard by his previous owners. On cold mornings or after a very hard work out he shows a little stiffness in his left shoulder I’m sure from arthritis. Trail ridding and modest trotting and cantering shows no irritation.

Mickey would make a great horse for a beginner pre-teen or teenager and would do exceptionally well for an older light weight adult who wants to enjoy trail ridding with the minimum risk of falling off as he is very reliable and responsive.
